Summer livin'

I have been dreaming of margaritas, sunsets, good music and a book on the deck with the warm summer evening breeze blowing through my hair. Of course that picture perfect moment would be ruined by a damn wasp buzzing around my head making me jump outta my seat nearly spilling my drink while I scream like the ridiculous girly-girl I can be at times all while Seth sits there next to me with his feet up probably munching on his favorite snack looking at me like I have lost my mind..

But, I don't want to just pull up a plastic chair and sit.. it's not very comfy for me and my oversized backside for a long period of time and well, I like to be fancy *pinkie up*

.. Kidding..

I have been mentally designing the deck space since last summer when I moved in with Seth; right after I mentally planted the money tree we would need for all my ideas. It is SUCH a great space though. Nice view, huge, has ceiling fans, outdoor speakers and a thick glass door so you can close it and not hear the kids tearing the house apart. The space is just a bit neglected and really could use a little revamp.

I don't really remember the entire conversation and how I got from mentioning I'd like two comfy chairs on the deck to talking to Seth about a couch, table, rug, pillows.. Poor guy. I think we realized that more seating wasn't as expensive as we were thinking and I found some sales. Either way, mama got a new seating set for the deck that we ordered on mothers day and was delivered this past Tuesday! Summer evenings.. you're MINE! I have already spent hours out here relaxing. Seth was asking me if I would actually use it.. dude... use it? Good luck getting me to come inside! It's not even been set up a week and it's definitely being broken in.

The kids also love being out here.. until the day I have to holler at them for trying to sit on the ivory cushions eating cherry popsicles and Cheetos. We don't even have Cheetos around here and they will still find some Cheetos just to get me all riled up and crazy.

I love this fish pillow. The beadwork is so pretty! All the pillows are from Home Goods. I love that store so much.. I want all the things! 

Just this morning I added a tray I forgot I had plus a throw blanket. Although Amelia, my four year old, calls that her 'mommy blanket' and will never allow it to stay on the deck. She's with her dad for a few weeks though so for now, it works! The tray and blanket are from Target awhile back.

 Whatcha think? There's still a bit I want to add around the deck over time, but this really helped give the space a cozy welcoming feel.

Alright.. time to go do something productive. I have been browsing online all morning trying to finalize some wedding and honeymoon things (mainly outfits) ignoring all the nagging little chores around here.
