Unicorn Birthday Party

This past Sunday was filled with unicorns, balloons, ice cream, obnoxious music my old lady ears can't deal with, sugar, more sugar and big smiles from a special girl who turned 11! Happy birthday, Miss S!

We used a Meri Meri Unicorn party theme. The current set we used was found at Homegoods and I believe discontinued now, but there's a similar cute Rainbows and Unicorns set by Meri Meri HERE.

The theme for her party was 'Unicorn Sundaes' Kinda random.. totally cute! I covered our play table with an irredecent light pink fabric. Partly because it looked cute, but mostly because the thing is trashed from being abused by the short people that live here.

I always find this brand of sprinkles at Homegoods and think I need them all so anytime there's a new color, I grab it.. in this case it paid off because I had several colors that coordinated with the theme which is a must. Yes, this is the important stuff in life, folks.

Another item I found, bought and hoarded that paid off; ceramic ice cream cone cups. Target.. you're so good to me.

Grocery store flowers for the win! They were gorgeous!

I loved the clear confetti balloons! Such a nice touch to fill in the room a bit with them scattered around on the floor. The confetti inside scattered around the floor after one gets popped?.. Yeaaaah. Not so much. Loose glitter and confetti are the two evil cousins that belong to the creepy uncle nobody talks to. It was mylar confetti and it was stuck to the tile. I finally got smart and picked it up with tape.

The liquid sugar dispenser. Filled with strawberry lemonade, Sprite and topped with orange vanilla ice cream.

Oh, look.. more sugar.

Since Miss S had a cake on her actual birthday we just did cupcakes for her party. I made her a special jumbo cupcake and stuck 11 candles in it. It was really cute all lit up! And that pearlized cake stand was a recent Homegoods find! Obsessed. I am sure Seth was super thrilled I found yet another cake stand I 'had' to have. Or maybe he just stopped counting?..

Just look away, dear..

My baking/party stuff is taking over the kitchen, pantry and laundry room cabinets. I actually asked him to pick out perfectly good 'boring' dishes and get rid of them.. to make room for more cake stands!

My little Mille wanted pictures with us.. Her foot pop is on point! Lacking in looking at the camera skills though. My little nugget!

For the party favor and craft I thought it would be fun to do custom shirts. The girls seemed to really like it. I cut and heat pressed all the wording ahead of time. All the decals like unicorns, gems, stars, rainbows and hearts were cut in various colors and put them on a tray so they could go through them and select what they'd like. I think they all did a fabulous job! I was smart and cut 103 unicorns since I didn't want to hear any 'I wanted THAT one!'. So glad I did that because they used a whoopin' 5 unicorns!

I felt like the italian grandmother who makes pasta for her family that comes over every Sunday and has 5lbs left over.

Cute, right?

Miss S invited four friends over and we're so glad they were all able to make it. I prefer to keep parties small, especially for children. I can't do too much crazy. Plus I am trying to teach the kiddos it's quality over quantity for friendships.

They really enjoyed making their sundaes! A couple of them definitely did not hold back! Ha! I think one of the girls had 50% chocolate syrup.

It was a fun day for unicorn sundaes! I truly enjoyed setting everything up and could seriously do this every month. Actually.. I almost can with having all the children here! I am already dreaming of the next birthday party we'll be having. A llama and cactus party for my llama crazed Alannah.. THAT should be fun!
